Does anyone else struggle with the fog transitions in career mode?

Rapido_39 (CZ) Xp: 30575
I have been spending a lot of time in the online career mode lately, and I really need to talk about the fog effects on the Skyline track. Is it just me, or has the visibility become significantly harder to manage after the last update? I was leading a high-stakes race yesterday, but as soon as we hit that long stretch near the end, the fog rolled in so thick that I completely missed the turn-in point for the final chicane.

I am currently running a level 4 engine with level 2 tires, and I am starting to think that was a huge mistake for this season's weather rotation. When it transitions from sunny to fog or snow, the traction drop-off is absolutely brutal. I tried switching to the rain tires, but then I lose too much top speed on the Overpass straights when it is sunny. It feels like there is no perfect balance right now. Does anyone have a specific nitro timing strategy for when the visibility drops? I usually save my nitro for the exits, but in the fog, I find myself tapping the brakes way too early because I cannot see the track markers clearly.

I would love to hear how you guys are tuning your cars to handle these sudden weather shifts, especially when you are halfway through a career season and cannot change your core build easily. Are tires actually more important than engine upgrades when the snow starts falling on tracks like Switchback? I am tired of sliding into the walls every time the sun goes away. Any advice on the best tire and nitro combo for mixed

The updated fog density on the Skyline track is actually incredible. It adds a layer of technical skill that was missing before. Navigating that final stretch by memory rather than just sight makes a podium finish feel much more earned. It really heightens the immersion and intensity during those high-stakes career races.

The Skyline track is definitely worse since the patch. That transition near the end is brutal because the fog seems to trigger a second too early, clipping through the dashboard camera. It makes hitting the braking zone for that final sharp right impossible without using the mini-map. They really need to adjust the opacity levels before the next season starts.

I understand the frustration, but I personally think the updated fog on Skyline makes the race more immersive. It forces us to memorize the braking points rather than just reacting to what we see. It is a steep learning curve for sure, but I haven't found it to be unfair once you get the rhythm down. It adds a nice tactical element to the end of the lap.

You are right, the density is way higher now. I’ve noticed that if you’re using the hood cam, the glare off the fog particles on the Skyline stretch is blinding. I missed the braking point for the final chicane three times in one session because the track markers just vanished into the gray. They definitely tweaked the volumetric settings too far in the patch.

I haven't really had the same experience on the Skyline track. To me, the fog density feels consistent with how it was before the update. I actually enjoy the extra layer of difficulty it adds to that final stretch, as it forces you to rely more on your muscle memory for the turn-in points rather than just visual cues.

I honestly feel like the fog on Skyline adds a welcome layer of challenge to the career mode. While the transition is definitely more abrupt after the update, it rewards drivers who have memorized the track layout and braking markers rather than just reacting to what they see. I haven't found it to be a dealbreaker, but it certainly keeps you on your toes during those high-stakes races.

The fog density on Skyline has definitely become a nightmare since the update. What makes it worse is how the track lights reflect off the mist, creating a white-out effect that masks the braking boards. I have missed that exact same turn-in point in the high-stakes lobby multiple times because the apex just disappears into a gray void right when you need it.

I lost a 5-second lead on Skyline last night because of that exact patch of fog. It rolled in right as I hit the final sector and I completely blew the braking zone for the sharp left. I ended up nose-first in the tire wall because I couldn't even see the track markings anymore. It definitely feels like the density was cranked up way too high in the last update.

Are you noticing the visibility drop specifically during the transition into the final sector, or is the fog density making the entire back straight impossible to navigate for you now?

The realism of the fog on Skyline since the update is honestly breathtaking. It adds such a technical layer to the career mode that requires real track knowledge and guts. Navigating that final stretch by pure instinct when the visibility drops is a thrill, and it makes those high-stakes victories feel incredibly rewarding. I love how it forces us to adapt our braking points.

I completely wiped out on that same stretch during a league race yesterday. I thought I knew the markers by heart, but the new fog density masks the brake boards until it is way too late. I went from P1 to P12 in seconds because I couldn't even see the rumble strips. It definitely feels like the patch made the transitions much more aggressive.
Drift_8636 (NZ) Xp: 14952
You're spot on about the Skyline stretch. The transition happens way too fast now. I found that if you're chasing someone, the spray combined with that new fog density makes it impossible to see brake lights. I lost my podium spot exactly the same way yesterday because the turn-in point just vanished.

You're definitely not alone. Since the patch, the density on Skyline kicks in almost instantly rather than rolling in naturally. It’s making those high-speed sections toward the end a complete guessing game. I’ve had to start memorizing my distance markers on the HUD because the physical track markers just disappear into that gray soup mid-turn.

I personally haven't found the fog on the Skyline track to be an issue after the patch. To me, it feels like the lighting actually helps define the racing line better during those transitions. If you keep an eye on the orange trackside markers near the end of that stretch, the turn-in point is still very clear even when the weather thickens up.

I haven't had the same experience with the fog on Skyline. While it is certainly denser now, I think the challenge it adds to the career mode is actually quite fair. If you focus on the distance markers instead of just the track surface, the turn-in point is still manageable. To me, it rewards track knowledge and consistency over pure reaction speed.

The new fog effects on Skyline are absolutely gorgeous. It adds such a realistic layer of tension to the online career races, making those blind corners feel incredibly rewarding when you actually nail them. The developers did an amazing job making the weather transitions feel so dynamic and challenging.
