Tire upgrades still feel way too weak during snow races on Switchback

Rapido_39 (CZ) Xp: 30575
I have been grinding the career mode for the past few weeks, and I need to share some feedback regarding the physics on Switchback when it snows. Currently, I have my tires upgraded to level 4, which should theoretically give me decent grip. However, the moment the weather rolls over to snow, it feels like those upgrades do absolutely nothing. The car slides around like it is on grease, and even minor adjustments to the steering send me straight into the barriers.

I understand that snow is supposed to be challenging, but there needs to be a noticeable difference when you invest heavily in top-tier tires. Right now, a player with level 1 tires and a player with level 4 tires seem to slide almost identically on those tight Switchback corners. It makes the career mode progression feel unrewarding because you spend all this cash on upgrades just to get wiped out by RNG weather.

My suggestion to the developers is to tweak the grip coefficient specifically for upgraded tires under snowy conditions. If we spend the time and points to max out our grip, we should feel a tangible benefit, even on the hardest layouts. As of right now, I am forced to just restart the race whenever snow pops up on Switchback because it is not worth the frustration. Anyone else feeling this way?

I had the exact same issue last night on Switchback. I dumped all my credits into upgrading to Level 5 snow tires for my rally coupe, thinking it would be a breeze. Instead, I spun out on the first hairpin and ended up sliding backward down the mountain. The traction multiplier for snow must be bugged because it felt like I was driving on bald summer tires.

You hit the nail on the head. Your description of the Switchback snow physics is incredibly accurate. Level 4 tires really should have more traction on the ice. Thanks for putting this feedback together so perfectly for the devs.

I respectfully disagree. I actually noticed a huge improvement on Switchback once I hit level 4 tires. The snow physics are meant to be highly realistic, so you still have to feather the throttle and brake much earlier than usual. If they buffed the grip any more, the winter races wouldn't feel like a unique challenge anymore.

I lost my championship lead on Switchback last night because of this exact issue. I had level 5 rally tires equipped, but the moment the blizzard started, my AWD hatchback just sailed straight off the first hairpin like the track was greased. It completely ruined my career run. Tire upgrades definitely feel broken when the snow hits.

Your analysis of the Switchback snow physics is spot on. I experienced the exact same frustration after upgrading to level 4 tires and still sliding all over the track. Thank you for articulating this issue so perfectly. It is reassuring to know it is not just me struggling with this lack of grip.

Are you using the general grip tires or did you actually equip the dedicated winter compounds? I noticed the game sometimes doesn't auto-equip the snow tires on Switchback even if you have them upgraded to level 4.

Are you running a RWD or AWD setup on Switchback? I noticed the level 4 tires barely make a difference on my RWD builds during snow storms, but I wonder if AWD makes it any more playable for you?

Level 4 tires? More like level 4 training wheels! Switchback in the snow is a drift zone, not a highway. Stop fighting the slide and embrace your inner figure skater.

Are you running a rear-wheel drive setup on Switchback? I noticed the level 4 tires barely make a difference on RWD cars in the snow, but have you tried switching to AWD to see if the grip physics actually register then, or is it just completely glitched for all drivetrains?

Are you sure you bought Level 4 tires and not Level 4 butter? Just kidding. Switchback in the snow is brutal, no matter what you are riding on. Time to learn how to drift, friend!

Sounds like someone is trying to drive in a straight line on a snowy Switchback. Level 4 tires aren't going to magically turn ice into asphalt! Put away the grip build and learn to love the slide, drift king.

I noticed this too. Even with level 5 tires, the hairpin turns on Switchback are a total joke when it snows. The physics engine definitely seems to ignore the grip upgrades once the weather changes. It makes upgrading them feel like a waste of credits.

Are you using the specialized winter compound or just the standard level 4 upgrades? I wonder if the devs coded the snow on Switchback to only recognize specific tire types rather than general grip ratings.
