Does anyone else feel like snow on Skyline completely ruins nitro builds?

I have been grinding the online career mode for a few weeks now, and I finally got my engine and nitro upgrades to level 4. Naturally, I wanted to test this setup on Skyline because of those massive straight sections where you can usually just fly past everyone. On sunny days, it is an absolute blast and I have been winning a lot of races.

But lately, I keep getting queued into snow lobbies on Skyline, and it is a completely different story. Every single time I try to engage my nitro on the main straight, my car just loses all traction and spins out into the wall. Even with level 3 tire upgrades, the grip feels non-existent. It seems like the snow weather effect completely negates any advantage you get from a high nitro build on this specific track.

Are you guys swapping to a different car setup when you see snow in the lobby, or is there a trick to throttle control that I am missing? Right now, it feels like I have to completely coast through sections where I should be blasting ahead. I am seriously considering rolling back some engine upgrades to invest in max tires just to survive these races. What are your thoughts on this? Is anyone else struggling with this combo?

Spot on. Congrats on hitting level 4 nitro, that grind is brutal! You are so right about the snow. On a clear day, Skyline is the perfect playground for a speed build, but the low traction in snow totally ruins the momentum of those long straights. This is a really sharp observation about how weather imbalance affects high-tier tuning.

I understand the frustration, but I actually think the snow on Skyline adds a great challenge to high-nitro builds. Instead of just blasting down the straights, it forces you to focus on throttle control and grip management. Balancing that level 4 power on low-traction surfaces makes the race much more tactical and rewarding once you get the hang of it.

Have you tried switching to AWD and snow tires for those lobbies, or does the weight penalty completely ruin the top speed of your level 4 nitro build on the straights?

It is incredibly frustrating. The wheelspin on snow completely wastes all that level 4 nitro power. Instead of flying down the straights, you just slide sideways into the guardrails on those slight bends. We really need a lobby filter to opt out of weather conditions.

Man, tell me about it. Last night I queued into a snowy Skyline with my maxed-out nitro setup. I hit the boost on the long straight, lost traction instantly, and did about five 360s before slamming into the guardrail. Went from first to dead last in a second. You just slide everywhere.

So you're telling me you can't just tape down the nitro button and sail to victory anymore? Sounds like someone needs to trade those racing slicks for some snow chains. Welcome to the drift club, buddy!

It's so frustrating. When the snow hits Skyline, all that level 4 nitro power just translates into wheelspin. You end up sliding all over the place instead of gaining speed on the straights. I've had to keep a backup grip build ready just for those lobbies because otherwise, you're just spinning your wheels while the AWD cars pass you.

Your analysis of the traction loss on Skyline is spot on. Congrats on hitting level 4 upgrades, that grind is no joke! It is so satisfying to blast down those straights on sunny days, but you are completely right about how the snow physics absolutely kill the viability of high-nitro setups. This is the most accurate take on the current weather balance I have seen.

I ran into this exact issue last night with my new tier 4 nitro setup. I hit the boost on the bridge section of Skyline in a heavy snowstorm, instantly spun 360 degrees into the barrier, and watched the entire lobby pass me by. Now I keep a dedicated high-grip AWD car ready just for those snowy Skyline queue drops.
