Is it actually worth maxing out nitro before engine in career mode?
I have been grinding the online career mode for the past few weeks, and I have hit a wall. Right now, I am split between two different upgrade paths. I currently have level 3 tires, but my engine and nitro are still at level 2. I have saved up enough credits for a major upgrade, and I cannot decide whether to dump it all into a level 4 engine or go for the max nitro upgrade instead.
From what I have seen on tracks like Skyline, a high engine stat is amazing for those long straightaways, especially when the weather is sunny. However, lately I have been getting a lot of rainy and foggy sessions on Overpass and Switchback. In those conditions, it feels like my engine power is wasted because I am constantly sliding around.
Some players in my lobby suggested that max nitro is actually better for recovering speed after sharp turns when traction is low. What do you guys think? Should I prioritize the raw power of the engine, or is the instant burst of nitro more versatile for the current weather rotation in career mode? I really want to optimize this before spending my credits.
